Culture, Arts, and Sports Leader

Mwavita serves as the Culture and Arts Leader. She promotes and ensures the effective implementation of cultural and artistic activities within the community. She creates online programs to teach the community about the traditions and cultural practices of KIJOBA and develops programs to teach children their native language. She ensures that the history of the WAJOBA people is documented, shared, and made accessible online. She organizes and hosts cultural events and performances featuring traditional musicians and artists. She engages the community in arts and cultural activities through outreach programs, arts initiatives, and educational opportunities, fostering cultural pride and strengthening the connection to WAJOBA heritage. Additionally, she advocates for the importance of arts and culture within the community, ensuring these activities are valued, supported, and accessible to every MJOBA living in the United States.
